Stone arches lead towards a glass-roofed hall and a light-filled square. This is an imagined walk through spaces of trade and meeting. The composition depicts no particular market square or market hall.

The market square: Katowice in one frame
The square changed with Katowice, including major alterations in the 1960s and 1970s. Around it stand the Silesian Theatre and buildings from different periods. It is a useful starting point for understanding why central Katowice looks unlike the medieval market squares of many Polish towns.
