Tarnowskie Góry: silver and the engineering of water

Discover a story in which infrastructure hidden below ground matters as much as the ore itself.

History and context

The 2017 UNESCO inscription covers lead, silver and zinc mining together with its underground water-management system. It is more than a single visitor route. The Historic Silver Mine and Black Trout Adit offer ways to explore different parts of this heritage.

Take a closer look

Ask not only what was mined, but what made the work possible. Select a specific route with the operator and check its entrance and participation requirements. Do not assume a ticket for one site also covers the other.
